Our clients had a brand new home, designed by Dalgliesh Ward Architects, for their family of four.  They engaged us to bring luxury and refinement, creating a high-end and contemporary family space.

We began with a palette of neutral tones, complimented by the warmth of oak, pops of pistachio green and a selection of opulent finishes and fixtures.

The kitchen was a bright and generous space, so we aimed to inject sophistication and functional flow. Custom joinery in a blonde timber laminate was installed, using predominantly push-close cupboards to ensure the façade was sleek. Polished Super White Dolomite with a beautiful, visually arresting patterning became the splashback, benchtops and the kitchen island, showcasing the fine artistry of nature.

We ensured the kitchen island could comfortably seat the family, bringing everyone together as meals are being prepared. It has a double-layered bench top with honed, fluted Dolomite curved around its end, embodying luxury and bespoke detailing.

The Dolomite’s exquisite aesthetic flowed into the living area, providing an elegant hearth for the gas fire. Timber batten panelling enclosed the flue, completing a contemporary, textural focal point for the space. An abstract artwork by Northern Beaches artist Ash Holmes perfectly ties in the palette for the living room, with earthy and neutral tones gracing the canvas.

The batten panelling appears again behind the bench seating at the entryway to the home, adorned with a large round mirror to bring in light and warmth.  A bench nook at the base of the stairs provides a simple storage solution to tidy away miscellany.

Pistachio green highlights can be found in the ‘Halo’ kitchen stools from SBW Australia, and the feature wall in the master suite, bringing a pop of delightful colour. The fluting details throughout the house are also reflected in the custom plush velvet bedhead, with brushed gold and frosted glass sconce lights for added luxe.

The colour of the cabinetry and brushed gold fixtures are continued in the bedrooms, ensuite and guest bathroom. Custom vanities allow ample storage in both bathrooms, with Quantum Quartz engineered stone tops in ‘concrete matte’ creating subtle detailing.

The Hunters Hill project is visually refined, yet full of subtly decorative finishes that brings an entirely unique personality to each space. A home of comfort, warmth and luxury that quietly convinces you to stay in.

“Leah and Fliss are incredibly talented designers who brought our dream to life. We are so grateful to have worked with them on this project. They are at the top of their field, and we know they will continue to lead the way in the design space for years to come.”
